The Singing River church of Christ is a group of Christians meeting in Florence, Alabama. We have no denominational name or headquarters. We are not members of any man-made denominational organization, conference, synod, or association. We are simply Christians trying to serve God in the manner prescribed in the New Testament. We are not perfect and infallible, but we know that God is, and that we must strive to serve Him in order to have salvation. We are concerned about having scriptural authority for the things we do.

Our organization is that of the New Testament church with elders, deacons and saints (Philippians 1:1) The elders have oversight of the congregation and “shepherd the flock” (Acts 20:28; 1 Peter 5:2).

We have Bible classes for all ages and our teachers work hard to present material from God’s word, so that we may grow spiritually.

The Singing River church is concerned with sharing the gospel with others. We stand ready to assist in helping others with their Bible study and spiritual growth.  At the present time we are supporting several preachers in their evangelism efforts. 

The church at Singing River does not support any man-made institutions. We are not involved in sports, parties, socials, or any other activities for which we cannot find scriptural authority. We follow the biblical pattern of the church work being that of preaching the gospel, edifying the saints, and providing benevolence for saints. We do believe that, as individuals, we are to “do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” (Galatians 6:10).
