Are you feeling discouraged?
Don’t be ashamed of the feeling of discouragement, some of God’s choicest people in scripture wrestled with discouragement.
Moses was discouraged by his physical handicaps (Exodus 4).
Nehemiah was discouraged when his efforts to rebuild Jerusalem’s wall was laughed at (Nehemiah 4).
Elijah was so discouraged he wished to die (1 Kings 19:4).
Jesus Himself dealt with heavy loads and discouragement at times, but here is the thing about discouragement …
- Satan wants you discouraged. He is a thief and murderer (John 10:10).
- God is the God of all comfort and encouragement (2 Corinthians 1:3-5).
- Discouragement is common to us all at times in life (Job 14:1).
When you are discouraged, you MUST focus on God and His Word, you MUST saturate your life and situation in prayer, you MUST lean on fellow brothers and sisters, and you MUST consider the blessings God has given you!
The God of heaven has never exempt you and I from trials, tragedy, or discouragement, but He has promised faithfulness to us in the midst of those times.
Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”
